Services
Canning Healthcare Centre provides you with a choice of health care services including:
Chiropractic
Your spine is one of the most complex and vital body parts! It supports your weight, alignment, flexibility and, most significantly, protects and enables the distribution of your spinal chord. You can live quite normally without a finger or a kidney but without your spine you can achieve very little! Chiropractic is based on the scientific fact that your nervous system controls the function of virtually every cell, tissue, organ and system of your body. Chiropractic philosophy begins with the principle that the human organism has an innate power to maintain its own health.
Occupational Therapy
Occupational Therapists are health professionals who enable people to overcome limitations they may experience in their daily occupations. Occupational Therapy works in the area of soft tissue (muscle pain, stiffness, reduced movement) focusing on the interrelationship between occupation and soft tissue function. Causes of soft tissue injury include:
- Car accidents
- Sports injury
- Emotional stress
- Poor posture
- Occupational strain / overuse
- Computer use
- Manual handling
- Repetitive tasks
- Static posture
Treatment includes myofascial trigger point therapy, education, stretching and how to avoid and prevent further injuries.
Naturopathy
The aim of naturopathy is to treat the person as a whole and not just their symptoms, to help the body heal itself and for the person to improve their health and well-being using diet, lifestyle and natural remedies. Caroline uses a combination of iridology, diet analysis, tongue and nail signs and a consultation to assess and devise a treatment plan specifically for you. Naturopathy excels when you do not feel as well as you should and have persistent and niggling complaints that deplete the quality of your life.
Massage Therapy
Massage stimulates circulation and assists the lymphatic system improving the elimination of waste from the body. Massage can invigorate or calm the nervous system – depending upon what is required by the individual – and thus help decrease fatigue, leaving the receiver with the feeling of replenished energy. The benefits of massage are – it is relaxing, soothing, healing, reassuring, improves breathing, improves circulation, enhances well-being and eases tension stiffness and pain.
