Day Fourteen

We are now on to day 14 of Feel Right, Move Right and we hope the information and advice we have given in our emails continue to be helpful. Remember if you have any questions or just want to chat, we are here for you.

As May is Mental Health Awareness Month, there is no better time for us to remind you we are here if you need to talk. Change is hard sometimes, but we believe that we are never faced with situations that we are not capable of growing from or handling. One of the most important things to know is that you are not alone.

You can visit us at the practice on any of the below days or pick up the phone and give us a call.

Monday 1pm - 5pm
Tuesday > Friday 8am - 6pm
Saturday 8am - 11am

Feel Right

During these crazy times, anxiety can really take a toll on your mental health. Here we have some tips to help you manage that feeling of overwhelm.

Slow Breathing
Take deep breaths in through the nose for 3 seconds, hold. Breath out pf your mouth slowly for 5 seconds.

Exercise, Keep Moving
Exercise is proven to lift our mood and boost endorphins. It can be hard to find motivation when you aren't feeling motivated, but we promise you will feel great after.

Routine
We discussed this in our last email. Routine becomes automatic after a while, reducing stress and cognitive load. Find a routine that works for you and stick with it.

Social Connection
Connections matter. Strong ties with family, friends, and the community provide us with happiness, support, and a sense of purpose. It is important for our mental and physical wellbeing.

Sleep/Rest
We all feel better after a great night's sleep. It is important for our bodies to regenerate and 'switch off'. Deep sleep seems to be a natural anxiolytic (anxiety inhibitor). If you struggle to switch off, try to limit screen time an hour before going to bed, listen to a meditation track, and try some essential oils.

Our team also has a range of specific treatments and advice that may help you to feel less anxious and stressed.

Move Right

Rhomboid Stretch

Dr. Shelley demonstrates here how you can relieve discomfort with this simple stretch. This is great for those who have been sitting for too long or feel tension between your shoulder blades.
